MCC baseball ranked fourth in preseason poll

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

The McLennan Baseball team is ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division I Baseball Preseason Poll released by Collegiate Baseball.

Chipola (Florida) is first, followed by San Jacinto (Texas) in second and Crowder (Missouri) in third. Dyersburg State (Tennessee) rounds out the top five.

Panola (13th) is the only other Texas squad to make the poll.

Last season, the Highlanders claimed the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Championship, the Region V Championship and a fifth-place finish at the JUCO World Series, finishing with an overall record of 52-13. McLennan opens the 2018 season at home against Angelina  with a noon doubleheader Jan. 26.
