A 60-year-old special needs teacher pleaded guilty to child porn offenses.

Kirk Keshler from Garland appeared in federal court Tuesday and plead guilty to one count of transportation of child pornography, said the FBI.

Keshler, a special needs teacher for Garland High School, told authorities that he used the internet and a file sharing system and receive "visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct."

While searching Keshler's home on Aug. 16, officials found a nude, realistic-looking child-size doll lying on the floor of a closet. A large television was connected to a laptop computer and showed that Keshler was actively viewing child exploitive movies when officials arrived at the residence. Underwear in varying child sizes.

Over 10,000 images and 3,000 videos were seized on the computer and included toddler-aged children to early and pubescent teens, both male and female.

Keshler faces a maximum penalty of no less than five and no more than 20 years in a federal prison, a $250,000 fine and a lifetime of supervised release.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 4, 2018.
