(RTDNA/CNN) - The nation's largest retailer has removed a T-shirt from its website that appears to threaten journalists.

Walmart pulled the shirt from its website on Wednesday.

The black shirt features the words "Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required."

The apparel was brought to Walmart's attention in a letter.

It believes the shirt would "openly encourage violence targeting journalists."

The shirt was being sold by third-party seller Teespring.com.

On Thursday, Teespring removed the shirt from its site.
