Another iconic statue has been removed from the McLennan county courthouse for repairs.

The eagle statue had a damaged wing. The statue has been placed above the steps of the courthouse since 1901.

The Montgomery Construction and Roofing Systems along with Joel Baze of Citadel Metals carefully removed the iconic statue Saturday morning.

The statue will be sent to Robinson Iron Works in Alexander City Alabama for repairs.

This is the same company who is building the New Themis statue.

The eagle will be returned to Montgomery Construction in December.

The new Themis statue is set to be reinstalled by Montgomery construction before Christmas.
