University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's football team will defend its national title Nov 18 against visiting Chapman university.

This is the 14th straight season the Cru have made it to the post season. Coach Pete Fredenburg's teams have won at least one playoff game in all of those trips.

Chapman is 6-2 overall with a perfect 6-0 conference record. The Panthers garnered votes in the D3football.com top 25 poll, but sit just outside the rankings. The Cru have maintained a stranglehold on the number one ranking for the entire season.

Fredenburg's team is coming off a tight 31-21 victory over East Texas Baptist University to finish a perfect 10-0 regular season, but the head coach knows his team needs to find an extra gear.

"We need to use last Saturday as a wake-up call because there is a new intensity when you get to the playoffs. If we don’t rise to the occasion, we won’t get a second chance."

Saturday's game is scheduled for a noon kickoff at Crusader stadium.
