The Crawford High School Volleyball team has one game left to play this season.

The Lady Pirates defeated Archer City three games to one to secure the program's first ever state championship appearance.

Sophomore outside hitter Anne Williams paced the team with 16 kills, while seniors Baylee Griffith and Morgan Claxton helped maintain a balanced attack with 13 and 10 kills respectively.

Crawford has come close to the title before, losing in the semis in 2013 and 2015.

Now, the Lady Pirates await the winner of Iola and Burton. The 2A state title game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday Nov 16 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.
