A significant water leak at the intersection of N. Ellis Street and W. Jacinto Street in Groesbeck has closed several roads in the city on Wednesday.

Police said the affected line is a 10-inch line that runs from ground storage units to the water tower. The leak could cause a citywide disruption in water service.

As of 10 a.m., Westbound traffic in the 200 block of W. Jacinto Street has been diverted to N. Dr. J.B. Riggs Drive. Eastbound traffic in the 300 block of W. Jacinto Street has been diverted to N. Waco Street. Southbound traffic has been diverted to the center lane in the 400 and 500 blocks of N. Ellis Street.

No traffic is allowed to turn into the 200 block or the 300 block of W. Jacinto Street from Ellis Street.
