Rosebud judge announces bid for District Judge position

Judge Matthew Wright, of Rosebud, has announced his bid for the position of District Judge of the 82nd Judicial District, covering Falls and Robertson Counties. 

The position became open last month following the retirement of Judge Robert Stem.

Wright earned a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Baylor University. He served as the Interim CEO and President of Baylor Scott & White, teaches at Baylor University's  Hankamer School of Business. He has served as a judge since 2013. 

He is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Texas as well as in federal courts. 

"It would be a genuine honor to continue serving the good people of our special part of Texas as a judge," Wright said. 

Wright will run as a Republican.
