The Groesbeck Independent School District confirmed that one their students that was crowned Homecoming queen has passed away following a liver transplant surgery.
Groesbeck ISD said Brooklyn Wilson passed away this morning.
Her father Scott Wilson posted on Facebook that Brooklyn passed away at 3 a.m. following a liver transplant surgery. She passed away at the Children's Medical center in Dallas.
He also said she is no longer suffering and that she has touched so many lives.
Groesbeck ISD said Brooklyn was crowned Homecoming Queen on Oct. 13.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Groesbeck.
According to Brooklyn's father, her favorite thing was Groesbeck ISD and its athletic program and her father said donations can be made to the Groesbeck Athletic Booster Club or the Groesbeck Education Foundation in her name.
