Three people have been arrested after police said they robbed, beat and kidnapped a man in Waco on Tuesday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., Waco officers went to the 2600 block of S. 15th St. where they found a 27-year-old man who said he had been beaten and robbed.

Police said the victim received a call from a female acquaintance identified as 35-year-old Monica Gonzales. Gonzales said she needed a ride from the New Road Inn. When the victim arrived at the room he was jumped by two men, 25-year-old Antonio Flores and 20-year-old Matthew Eldridge.

The victim was beaten and taken to his car at knifepoint by the two suspects. The suspects then drove the victim to the South Waco area followed by Gonzales in another vehicle.

Near Loop 340 and S. Third St., the victim was beaten again and his shoes and cellphone were stolen by the suspects.

The victim was able to escape the two men and fled. Fearing for his life, he hid in a drainage ditch, police said.

The suspects then stole the victims 2001 Saturn and fled the scene.

While walking back, the victim was picked up by a passer-by and taken to S. 15th St where a citizen heard his cry for help and reported him as a suspicious person. He was treated by ETMC for injuries he sustained during the event.

Waco police continued the investigation and located the three suspects back at the New Road Inn. Officers were able to recover evidence of the crime and the victim's Saturn.

Gonzales, Flores and Eldridge were arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping. Flores and Eldridge were also charged with aggravated robbery.

Police believe more suspects may have been involved as they continue to investigate.
