A 26-year-old woman is in jail after her son showed up to school with bruising on both sides of his face, said the McLennan County Sheriff's Office.
MCSO said that Lucia Ramirez Dominguez was arrested Tuesday after her 7-year-old son showed up to school with the bruising on Oct. 16.
The school contacted Child Protective Services and an investigation took place. The sheriff said that the child was injured or hit by his mother around Oct. 12 and kept him from school for several days because the bruising was bad.
The child is a student at Connally ISD and from the Elm Mott area.
No other details were released.
