'No Shave November' is gaining more popularity every year.

This year, Texas A&M police officers will participate to raise cancer awareness.

Typically, UPD policy prohibits officers from having goatees and beards while in uniform; however, they are making an exception for this month.

Police Chief Mike Ragan suspended their policy and officers who choose to participate will donate $30 for a goatee and $50 for a beard.

All of the money raised will go to the local American Cancer Society.

The purpose of 'No Shave November' is to evoke conversation about cancer because men typically lose their facial hair because of cancer.
