Waco residents will show off their strength for a good cause Saturday, Dec. 2.

They will come together at Waco ISD stadium to pull a 55,000 pound fire engine 75 feet in the fastest time possible.

The annual Fire Truck Pull is a team-building activity open to the public to support Special Olympics Texas athletes in the Heart of Texas area.

Fire truck pull teams are teams made up of 12 people who will pull the large emergency vehicle.

Any teams registering with groups fewer than 12 should indicate that in their registration and fill-ins will be made available to them.

Check-in begins at 9 that morning and the first pull is slated 30 minutes after that.

The entry fee is $25 per person or $300 for a team of 12 people.

All funds raised will benefit 1,000 plus children within the SOTX sports program.

Through efforts like this, the Law Enforcement Torch Run raised over $1.4 million last year and plans to continue providing support for thousands of special Olympic athletes.
