Firefighters and police officers of Copperas Cove will face off in a basketball game

Firefighters and police officers of Copperas Cove will face off in a basketball game for a worthy cause.

The Battle of the Badges Basketball game Saturday will be held at Copperas Cove High School Gym #2 at 5:30 p.m.

There is no admission cost for this event; however people who attend as well as players are asked to donate school supplies or non-perishable foods.

The community in the past have made these events successful, and they are inviting guest out to make it all happen again.

This is an effort that will benefit Communities in Schools and the STEM program for Fairview/Ms. Jewell and Halstead Elementary.

Examples of items needed are construction paper, glue sticks, cotton balls, Elmer's glue, popsicle sticks, yarn, string, marshmallows, decks of playing cards, composition notebooks, colored pencils, markers, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, quart and gallon Ziploc baggies, folders with brads, earbuds, crayons, notebook paper, expo markers & erasers, crackers, chips, juice boxes.

Organizers are inviting all who can attend to come out and show support.
