Baylor Head Coach Matt Rhule announced Freshman Charlie Brewer will start at quarterback against Kansas.
Rhule says former starter, Zach Smith (Sophomore) is unavailable due to a shoulder sprain.
The Bears' injury list continues to grow week after week, but Rhule says his staff is discovering a lot of young players reaching new heights after getting the opportunity to play.
Kansas is struggling as well this season. The Jayhawks are 1-7 on the year with their only win coming against a Football Championship Series opponent, Southeast Missouri State.
Baylor is 0-8 after its latest loss against Texas, but the Bears are hoping new energy at QB can jumpstart the offense. The Green and Gold travel to Kansas Nov 4 for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
