It's no secret that members of our law enforcement wear many hats, from police officer to teacher to parents of our youth they play a key role in our society, but apparently they also play key roles in movies.

"You know this movie is FAZand it's just a straight up zombie movie, it's kind of like what you would see on the sci-fi network. Think Sharknado in Corsicana," Corsicana Police Chief, Robert Johnson said.

The stars of the film have been in production under the direction of George Bennett for about a little over a year.

"It's about a struggling horror film maker living in a small town and he wakes up the next morning to an actual zombie outbreak and instead of fleeing or 'getting out of dodge.' if you will. he decides to use the zombies for the production value he never had," Bennett said.

Chief Johnson stars as Sheriff Bubba number one. he said his goal with acting is more than just playing a character, but also to connect with community members.

"Cause now when I am walking downtown or walking through a store and I am in police uniform, my real police uniform, and they see me they are not going to have any problem running up to me and going 'Hey chief how you doing," Johnson said.

This is Johnson's third film in Corsicana.

"If I can do something like that and leave something positive behind and bring something to Corsicana that's fun. I am going to do it," Johnson said.

The premier of the movie is scheduled for the beginning of 2018.
