Baylor Head Football Coach Matt Rhule named Sophomore Zach Smith his starting quarterback, Wednesday.

Smith's hold on the job came into question during the fourth quarter against West Virginia. Rhule inserted Freshman signal caller Charlie Brewer into the line up.

The Austin native led the Bears to 23 fourth quarter points before falling two short of West Virginia at the final buzzer.

Rhule said he was open to Brewer starting, but, "Zach had done too much. He led that comeback against Oklahoma."

Baylor has played both quarterbacks every game since week five against Kansas State. Rhule went on to say he would have a package for Brewer and he needed to be ready to play.

The Bears host rival Texas, Saturday Oct 28, at 11:00 a.m. in McLane Stadium.
