A woman was arrested after she stole $6,233 worth of jewelry from a 65-year-old woman and selling it at a pawn shop.

The woman reported she had a number of jewelry pieces missing from her residence and she believed one of her tenants, Christie Ahlgrim Skinner had taken the items.

The woman gave deputies a detailed list of the jewelry that was missing and said she believed Skinner may have pawned the stolen jewelry. She said she went to a local pawn shop and confirmed that Skinner brought in the items.

Deputies went into the pawn shop and took pictures of the items pawned by Skinner. The pictures were shown to the victim, who confirmed they were her missing pieces of jewelry.

The woman also said Skinner had permission to enter her residence at different times.

Skinner confessed to taking the jewelry and selling it at the pawn shop.

Skinner was charged with theft from an elderly person, a third-degree felony.
