UMHB soccer star gets player of the week honors

BELTON, TX (KXXV) -

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball player Haleigh Evans has been named the American Southwest Conference Volleyball West Division Player of the Week for the week ending October 23rd. This is Evans’ fourth weekly award this season.

 

A sophomore libero from Edna, Texas (Edna H.S.), Evans averaged 6.14 digs per set in two wins over Concordia Texas last week. She totaled 43 digs in seven sets with a 21.5 digs per match average. Evans currently has 381 digs on the season.

 

Jasmine Jones earned the ASC West Division Offensive Player of the Week award while Paige Miller and Karina Lay of East Texas Baptist swept the East Division awards. UMHB returns to action in the Trinity University Tournament, opening play on Friday, October 27th in a 3:30 p.m. match against Texas Lutheran University.
