The Killeen ISD School Board is meeting tonight to hear from superintendent Dr. John Craft about the possibility of a bond election.

KISD has not requested a bond election in 15 years, the last of which was in 2002.

Topics in the bond package would include the addition of new schools to match the growing enrollment and the repairs for older schools in the district.

"The planning is really imperative to go ahead and move forward if there is going to be a potential bond election for future school facilities," Dr. Craft said.

Dr. Craft is requesting the election to be held in May of 2018. The school board has until February to decide whether or not to put the bond election on the May ballot.
