A former high school teacher was indicted for having an improper relationship with a student.

The Killeen Police Department began an investigation in early May in which the former teacher Jose Rivera had an improper relationship with a student at Shoemaker High School, in Killeen.

Rivera told officials that he and the student had been in a room on the campus alone.

The student also told officers that Rivera would rub her breasts.

Officers found cell phone data from Rivera's phone and the phone of the student were it showed the inappropriate relationship.

The Killeen Independent School District said Rivera’s probationary contract was terminated on October 10, 2017.

Rivera had been on administrative leave since May when the investigation began.
