The state called 6 witnesses today in the trial of Terence Len Daniel Jr. and Ta’Darius La’Vonte Davis, both 23.
The two men are charged in the Oct. 28, 2015 shooting death of Thomas Gene Smethers, 24, who was found lying outside the Copperas Cove Walmart store.
Jurors heard testimony from attending EMT/Firefighters, about the condition and treatment given at the scene of the crime. Testimony was also, given about the victim going into cardiac arrest, soon after their arrival. Investigators believe that the shooting to be a drug deal gone bad.
Jurors were released for the day after the final testimony was given for the day, with instructions to return at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
