A Waco resident caught alleged thieves looking for open cars in the Concho Bend neighborhood and stealing items from them around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The resident believes his Toyota was unlocked or the key-less remote was too close to the car, and it was able to be open by the thieves.

Video on the home surveillance camera provided by the resident shows two men walk up the driveway and open a Toyota and attempt to open a Jeep. One man is shown going through the Toyota, and the two men were using flashlights to see inside the two vehicles.

The resident said he noticed the car had been entered because the tray in the center console was moved. He said an empty sunglasses case and sunglasses were removed from his Toyota. He added that his neighbor's car was also broken into and cash was taken.

Waco police said you should always file a report, no matter how minor the crime, because it might stop a trend from happening.
