The Lampasas Police Department said they arrested a man that broke into a car dealership Sunday morning in Lampasas.

An employee of the Benny Boyd's Dodge dealership called the police and reported that someone broke into a service bay by damaging an exterior door.

The burglar ransacked several offices, damaged property and had broken into about a dozen vehicles parked outside.

While officers investigated the incident, the officers were called to a Walmart for a disturbance between customers.

Officers identified 36-year-old Michael Stratton as one of the customers involved.

The matter was settled and the customers were released.

When officers returned to the dealership, they were able to access security camera footage and officers determined Stratton was the burglar.

Officers found Stratton walking on the street and found him with items belonging to the dealership.

Statton was arrested for burglary of a building, burglary of a motor vehicle, and was transported to Lampasas County Jail.
