The Lampasas Independent School District said a weapon was found on a middle school campus.
The weapon was found on Friday morning at the old softball field of the middle school.
The school district said, that area is not easily accessible for students and wanted to make parents aware.
Police swept and cleared the entire campus.
The Police Department is working to identify the owner of the weapon.
