A Temple man was arrested for possession of child pornography and tampering with evidence.

The man identified as 53-year-old Jon Johnson was arrested by a federal agency on Oct. 12 after child pornography was found on several of his electronic devices.

On Sept. 29, a woman called the Temple Police Department and told them she believed Johnson, her stepfather, installed a camera in her bathtub to try to record her while she bathed.

Temple police then initiated an investigation. While the investigation was being conducted, Johnson attempted to destroy compact discs and erase the hard drive from his computer.

Officers were able to locate the cut up discs among other of his electronic devices and found child pornography material.

Johnson admitted to police that he possessed child pornography material and admitted that he tried to destroy the devices.

Johnson's stepson told police that he had found recordings made by Johnson from about 20 years ago. He told police that when he confronted Johnson about the videos, Johnson moved the videos to an undisclosed location.

Johnson is being charged with possession of child pornography and receipt of child pornography.
