Seguin Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure was attending the concert in Las Vegas where a gunman killed over 58 people. At least 515 others were injured at the same event.

Ure was able to escape after suffering a minor wound to his hand, Seguin Police Department said.

He was able to help other victims escape and even applied a tourniquet to one who was bleeding badly, Seguin city spokeswoman Morgan Ash told WOAI

"He was hit in his hand by some shrapnel, but luckily that was it, and he's okay," Ash said. "He was able to take two women who had been shot, commandeer a vehicle and drive them to the hospital."
