A man is dead after being shot in the head in Cameron.
32-year-old Courtney Latrell Williams was found dead at the scene with gunshot wounds to the head.
Cameron police said the shooting happened on Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue.
35-year-old Alvin Melton was arguing with his brother 46-year-old John Melton. John threatened Alvin with a knife. Alvin went to his bedroom and grabbed a shotgun.
Alvin told authorities the shotgun went off and struck Williams in the head.
Alvin and John were located next door and taken to the Milam County Jail.
Alvin and John Melton are being charged with first-degree murder. John is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well.
The victim was taken to the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
