Detours established in Copperas Cove for Downtown Revitalization Project

COPPERAS COVE, TX (KXXV) -

The City of Copperas Cove is giving detours due to the construction being done for the Downtown revitalization project.

The Downtown Revitalization Project began on Jan. 16, 2017. The project is divided into three phases. 

The contractor is nearing the completion of Phase II. 

For the past several weeks both eastbound lanes of Avenue D, between Main Street and 2nd Street, have been temporarily closed.

In addition to this existing closure, South 2nd Street will be closed between Avenue D and Avenue E from approximately September 25th thru 27th.

A detour has been established around the construction site, as follows:

-Motorists traveling north or south on Main Street will not be permitted to turn east onto Avenue D.
- Motorists traveling east on Avenue D must either turn north or south on Main Street.
- Motorists will be unable to turn onto South 2nd Street from either Avenue D or Avenue E.
