As part of the National Health Center Week, the Family Health Center hosted a block party to raise awareness for its services.

During the block party, the Elm Avenue Clinic had games, dental screenings and giveaways for those attending.

The dental screenings for children and adults will continue until 5 p.m. on Monday.

Family Health Center Chief Operating Officer David Hunt said it is important for the community to know about the medical and dental services provided.

“We are here again to make sure folks there shouldn’t be a barrier for them to get excellent care for a lack of ability to pay because although we are not a free clinic, we have a sliding fee schedule and financial arrangements to help people that are uninsured and underinsured,” Hunt said.

The family health center has 13 locations in McLennan County and one in Bell County.
