Killeen police arrest two suspects in an internet dating meetup went wrong

Two people have been arrested after an internet dating meetup turned into a robbery in Killeen on Aug. 9.

At 7:26 a.m., Killeen police were called to the Econo Lodge at 606 E. Central Texas Expressway to a call of an aggravated robbery on an individual.

When the officers arrived, they met with the victim who said he had arranged a meeting with a woman through an online dating website. He told officers when he entered the woman’s motel room, he was confronted by a man with a handgun who robbed him at gunpoint.

Officials were able to locate the suspects in the motel room. They were identified as 18-year-old Carletra Suggs and 22-year-old Dwayne Williams, both of Killeen.

Suggs and Williams were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Their bonds were each set at $100,000.
