Woman in critical condition after stabbing at Killeen convenience store

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

A woman is in critical condition after a man stabbed her at a Sun Mart in Killeen, Thursday morning. 

At 7:24 a.m., police said a man walked into the Sun Mart at 817 E. Rancier Ave., walked towards the coolers, grabbed a drink and approached the counter with a beverage and walked away.

A clerk at the store went to check on the man when stabbed her and fled the scene on foot. A second employee then called the police. 

The suspect is described as slender built, approximately 5'8"- 5'9" and was last seen wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans. 

Police said the victim was flown to the hospital and is in critical condition.

The Killeen Police Department is still investigating.
