RockReady Printing Design and Allen Samuels of Waco partnered with News Channel 25 to hand out backpacks to local students.
The free event provided Central Texas children with a variety of school supplies as well as fun activities.
RockReady gave out about 500 backpacks to kids at their event, which was held at 219 Depot Drive. Allen Samuels gave kids about 200 backpacks at their dealership 201 W. Loop 340.
Both companies want to get kids energized and excited about getting an education. Robert Stanford and Rudy Cantu own RockReady said they want to thank Central Texas for supporting their business.
"We just want to give back to the community for helping us out and helping us grow as a business and giving us an opportunity to establish ourselves here in Waco. So we just want to give back. And that's what it is. Just giving back and being able to see smiles on kids' faces" said Stanford.
