Bellmead mayor and dog hold robbery suspect until police arrive

Bellmead Police said that the Bellmead mayor held a robbery suspect with his dog in his yard on Thursday until police arrived.

Police said that two men robbed the Little Caesars on 1517 Interstate 35 in Bellmead at gunpoint around 1 p.m. in the afternoon. The suspects were able to run away from the scene with money.

Police said Bellmead Administration were on their way back to the police department when they saw the two suspects near the elementary school. The suspects were able to run, and an administration officer captured one of the suspects in the 1200 block of Ashleman. He was detained, and the gun was retrieved.

The other suspect was able to escape from police. He was running through the neighborhood with a pistol in hand. He eventually threw the gun down at one of the houses.

Police said that dispatch announced residents on Marble St. in Bellmead called to state there was a male subject in the back of a truck parked in a driveway. 

Police said the suspect ended up in Mayor Doss Youngblood's yard, and the mayor and his Blue Heeler, Rose, were able to stop him and hold him until police came. Other residents in the area assisted.

Police said no one was injured in this incident, and all stolen property was recovered.

The suspects were charged with aggravated robbery with a weapon and evading police on foot. 

The first suspect that was detained has been identified as 24-year-old Raven Gee. The second suspect will not be identified because he is 16.

The Bellmead Police Department would like to thank all the agencies who assisted in the hunt and capture of these two suspects, along with the assistance of quick thinking citizens and of course “Rose” and Mayor Youngblood.
