Local businessman and veterans advocate, Leo Pacheco and Chevrolet of West, will sponsor a disabled veteran’s participation in Warriors in the Winds.

This donation will allow 31-year-old Jay Pietras, a local wounded warrior, to participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Warriors in the Winds is organized by The Rocking the Winds Foundation. The event promotes positive healing and memorable experiences for our recovering, combat wounded military members. This year a well deserving group of American Heroes will climb to Wyoming’s highest point, Gannett Peak.

Pietras began his service in the United States Army stationed at Ft. Hood. He went on to serve in Iraq during 2005 and 2006. After serving for nearly four years, Pietras now lives with PTSD and tinnitus. He has daily struggles, but continues to push himself forward. He currently lives in the Waco area with his family and is active in making life better for all veterans.

Warriors in the Winds is still in need of funds and equipment for the climb. Donations for this event and the foundation can be mailed to Rocking the Winds at 177 Burris Lenore Rd., Crowheart, WY 82512. Additional Details can be found at www.facebook.com/RockingTheWindsFoundationFundraiserEvent.
