College Station police said they were searching the College Station Utilities Center area for armed burglary suspects, Monday morning.

At 4:00 a.m., police were called out to the 200 block of Rugen Lane for a call of burglary of a vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle heard noises outside of his residence, checked outside and saw a group of men burglarizing his vehicle. The suspects were startled by the owner and fled in a Honda Sedan, police said. The owner reported that a 45 caliber handgun was taken from his vehicle during the incident.

About ten minutes later, an officer saw a car matching the description on Graham Road and attempted to make a traffic stop. The car attempted to evade the officer by turning into the entrance of the College Station Utility Center. They drove into the woods east of the building and then left the car and fled on foot.

One suspect was immediately caught.

Police set a perimeter around the area and a Byran K-9 was called out. Officers shut down the entrance into the center on Graham Road and Birmingham Road, but have since opened it.

About an hour and a half after the initial traffic stop, the second suspect was found by the K-9 and officers. The K-9 continued to search for the third suspect, who was found four hours later at around 8:15 a.m.

College Station police arrested Frank Blanco, 18, Fernando Funes-Cruz, 18, and Felix Ponce, 18, all from Bryan.

All items from the burglary were recovered, including the 45 caliber handgun and a second handgun. There were four burglaries in the area of Rugen Lane reported this morning.
