The rehabilitation project for a portion of SH 36 in Coryell County will begin on Aug. 1.

TxDOT said the project is designed to increase safety along the highway. The project will resurface and widen nearly 12 miles of the roadway. It will be from Hay Valley Road to F.M. 217 in Jonesboro.

Passing lanes, culvert-ends at cross drainage locations, adjoining private driveways and more will also take place within the project area.

TxDOT said the project will begin with the placing of signs and barricades on Aug. 1.

The project is expected to be complete in the winter of 2018.
