COLLEGE STATION, TX (KXXV) -

The College Station Police Department said a man was arrested for assault on a public servant.

On July 14, police responded to 217 University Dr. for a report of a man who was refusing to leave a bar.

When officers arrived, the man identified as 21-year-old Keith Carrus was still there. He was arrested for public intoxication.

During the arrest, Corrus resisted arrest and refused to cooperate with officers efforts to escort him and be transported to jail.

Once in jail, Carrus lashed out, striking the College Station holding facility employee with his hand, causing visible injury. Carrus was immediately subdued and placed in a jail cell.

He was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, resisting search, resisting transportation, and assault on a public servant.
