Police were called to the 1500 block of Fifth Street for a report of an injured child on July 10 around 11:10 p.m.
Temple police said the 3-year-old was climbing on the furniture to reach a television when both fell on top of the child.
When police arrived, CPR was already in progress. The child was then taken to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.
The incident is under investigation and an autopsy has been ordered.
