Police impound vehicle connected with hit-and-run

BELLMEAD, TX (KXXV) -

Bellmead Police said they have impounded a car that they believe is connected with a recent hit-and-run that killed a 36-year-old woman.

The registration on the vehicle is in McLennan County. Police said that a search warrant has been served, and they have a suspect. However, no one has been arrested at this time. 

According to Bellmead Police, 36-year-old Jana McElyea was hit by a vehicle near the corner of New Dallas Highway and Montrose Street. Police responded around 9:15 p.m. on July 3 and found Mcelyea wearing all black clothing.

McElyea was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

McElyea was the mother of three children, including 21-year-old twins Jordan and Jayden Kutscherousky and 16-year-old girl Zaylee Webb.
