Traffic is about to be shifted for travelers on State Highway 6 through Waco.
According to TxDOT, traffic on the southbound side of SH 6 will be transitioned onto the northbound side, creating a "one-lane-in-each-direction configuration."
The change will happen during the overnight hours on Monday, July 10.
Traffic will remain in this configuration until November, where then the same configuration will be moved onto the southbound side bridge. The work is a part of an asphalt overlay project that will lay asphalt over 10 miles of the highway, from Bagby Avenue to McLaughlin Road.
The $14.4 million project is scheduled to be completed (and traffic back to normal) by spring of 2018.
