Killeen police said they are investigating two robberies that happened within 18 minutes of each other early Wednesday morning.

Authorities first responded to an attempted robbery call at 12:30 a.m. at a Wendy's in the 1200 block of Fort Hood Street.

An employee working in the drive-thru window said two men walked up to the window and when she saw one of them holding a gun, she immediately ran and so did the suspects.

Just 18 minutes later, police responded to an armed robbery around 12:48 a.m. in the 3600 block of South Clear Creek Road at a 7-11.

According to police, two suspects entered the store, and one of them had a gun. One of the suspects demanded cash from the store clerk, and then both men  ran eastbound on Elms Road.

Police said the descriptions of the individuals involved in both incidents were similar, but they did not know if they were related.

All suspects are still on the loose.
