Public Service Memorial planned for longtime councilman

The public memorial for a Waco councilman who died after a battling cancer has been scheduled for Saturday.

76-year-old Rev. Wilbert Austin, who resigned in May, served in the council for 11 years.

The memorial will take place at the Waco Convention Center’s Chisholm Trail at 11 a.m.

Visitation at the McDowell Funeral home in Waco on Friday evening.
