CLIFTON, TX (KXXV) -

The Clifton Police Department said they arrested a man after he tried to solicit sex from a woman’s 13-year-old daughter. Emit De La Rosa was charged with conspiracy to commit human trafficking.

The woman told police that she had De La Rosa on an online dating app and began to chat with him in hopes of building a personal relationship.

The woman said that De La Rosa asked her about her home life, and she told him she had a 13-year-old daughter.

Police said De La Rosa asked the mother to entice the teen to perform sexual acts. The woman immediately contacted Clifton police.

She gave her phone to officers, and they began an investigation.

Police said that over a period of 24 hours, officers communicated with De La Rosa, posing as the woman.

While posing as the woman, officers offered to meet De La Rosa in a public place and take him to her home to meet the teen.

On Tuesday morning, Clifton police met with De La Rosa. Bosque County deputies assisted with the arrest.

De La Rosa is in the Bosque County Jail.
