One person is dead after an early morning wreck over the weekend.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the wreck happened Sunday at 1:50 a.m. just a mile north of Rockdale.
DPS said a 2010 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound and then drifted off the roadway. The car struck a culvert and rolled over.
The driver, identified as Cirilo Castillo, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, identified as Jorge Martinez, 21, was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.
DPS said it is unknown why Castillo's car drifted from the roadway.
