Baylor women’s basketball post player Lauren Cox has been invited to try out for USA Basketball’s U19 National team at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., from May 18-21.

The four-time USA Basketball gold medalist and 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship MVP has declined the invitation. Cox will sit out to remedy tendonitis in both knees.

Cox played in all 37 games for the Lady Bears in 2016-17 with one start. She averaged 7.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per contest. The Flower Mound, Texas, native earned the Big 12 Sixth Man honor and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
