Police: Victim told police 'she's got a gun' before call ends, woman found dead

One person is dead from a gunshot wound in Lampasas County. 

According to the Lampasas County Sheriff's Office, an emergency call was made at 11:49 a.m. on Thursday. 

The incident happened on the 700 block of West North Avenue in Lampasas. 

The caller was transferred to Lampasas Police Department. The woman on the line was heard to say "she's got a gun" and "my wife, I told her I wanted a divorce" before the call ended. 

Officers arrived to the scene quickly. A woman inside was heard yelling for help and two gunshots were heard. Entry into the home was made and authorities found the victim, Deborah Chance, 47, dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. 

Another woman, Millie Chance, 24, was found in the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Chance was taken to Scott and White Hospital in Temple. 

The investigation is ongoing.
