McLennan baseball remains third in NJCAA poll

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

For the fourth consecutive week, the McLennan Highlanders are ranked third in the NJCAA Division I Baseball Rankings.The Highlanders have an overall record of 32-7 and are 13-3 in conference play.

Chipola (Florida) jumped to the top spot this week with a record of 33-7 followed by Dyersburg State (Tennessee) who moved down to second with a 34-4 record. Chattahoochee Valley (Alabama), with a record of 32-8, and Crowder (Missouri), with a 33-8 record, round out the top five.  

Three of McLennan’s Region V opponents made moves in the polls this week. Odessa jumped up two spots to ninth with a 30-7 record, and Midland moved up five spots to 13th with a 29-9 record. Grayson fell four spots to 14th with a record of 25-9.
 
Panola (32-8) from Region XIV at 15th is the only other Texas school in the poll. San Jacinto is receiving votes.
 
The Highlanders travel to Vernon for a doubleheader at noon Wednesday and will complete the four-game series with the Chapparals with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark Friday.
