NEW YORK (KXXV) -

Baylor women’s basketball redshirt senior Alexis Jones is one of 10 players invited to attend the 2017 WNBA Draft Presented by State Farm in person. The guard will take part in the annual event on Thursday, April 13 at Samsung 837 in New York.

ESPN2 will provide coverage and analysis of the first round beginning at 6 p.m. (CT) and ESPNU will air coverage of the second and third rounds starting at 7 p.m. Fans can also stream the 2017 WNBA Draft live on WatchESPN and the ESPN app. The event is not open to the public.

WNBA.com will provide complete draft-day coverage and serve as a web destination for fans who want to track the top college seniors prior to the draft.

Jones, a 2017 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American, was a unanimous first team All-Big 12 selection after averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. She recorded the Big 12 Conference’s only triple-double of the year with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against No. 20/20 Oklahoma. It marked the first points-rebounds-assists triple-double in Baylor women’s basketball history, as Brittney Griner (2009-13) tallied the only other triple-doubles in points-rebounds-blocks (five times). Jones was twice named Big 12 Player of the Week (Nov. 30, Jan. 30) and once selected Naismith Trophy Women’s Player of the Week (Jan. 31) as a senior.

The Irving, Texas, native closed her two-season Baylor career ranked second in career three-point field goal percentage (.411), second in triple-doubles (1), fourth in assist average (4.6), eighth in three-point field goals made (132) and ninth in three-point field goal attempts (321).

In 2016, Jones was recognized as a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Player. She was also an All-Big 12 first team selection. At Duke, she was a two-time All-ACC second team selection (2013, 2014).
