Thursday morning started off on a cool note across Central Texas!

Due to clear skies, light winds, and low dew points, temperatures dropped rapidly overnight. Most cities across the area observed sunrise temperatures in the low to mid 40s. Some areas even saw temperatures as low as the upper 30s! Fun fact: today's record low temperature for Waco was set back on April 6th, 2009 at 35 degrees.

But these chilly morning conditions won't reflect what the afternoon has in store for us! Get ready for another beautiful day with highs in the mid 70s. The pristine weather will continue into the weekend, as high temperatures are expected to climb into the low to mid 80s.

Looking a little farther ahead, isolated thunderstorms could pop back into the forecast on Sunday as a dry line sets up over West Texas. Enough moisture will be in place to bring a chance of afternoon and evening storms. Unsettled weather could return with a bang on Monday as a frontal system makes its way over Texas. The First Alert 25 Weather Team has upped storm chances to 60%.

Sunday and Monday will be worth keeping an eye on, so make sure to download your First Alert 25 weather app to stay up to speed on the latest weather information.
